This is a lovely full slice of an early NWA x specimen which was cut from an oriented larger mass. Look at the thick fusion crust on this… It’s a nearly one of a kind cut through an incredible specimen.
Note the provenance. For anyone who has collected long enough to know the history of the early NWA meteorite boom, they will know the name Caillou Noir, who was a meteorite hunter and merchant very early in the NWA boom. Their website (see photo) is now defunct but once contained and exceptional variety of specimens from the region and enormous full slices of meteorites. I acquired this specimen from Mike Bandli at Historic meteorites, also an exceptional source of provenance.
Most meteorites I am entirely open to offers on, but I’ve had numerous lower offers on this specimen and have turned them down. I’d rather keep it and enjoy it if it won’t sell for my asking price. It’s a phenomenal specimen and looks amazing on the shelf. Worth the ticket price for a sincere collector.
